Description

Here is the top 11 of my gallery. The deviations are sorted by descending "square root" quality.
In brackets are displayed more human-readable scores, computed by comparing the quality of deviations to the "best" one.

#1 : I Sanguinari [100]
#2 : Chania [93]
#3 : Blue Tit III [91]
#4 : Panther I [91]
#5 : Kitty Cat [90]
#6 : Palombaggia [89]

Upon more thinking, too, it doesn't account for the type of deviation and how that can effect popularity; a deviation in the photography or anime gallery is much more likely to garner views and/or favs than something in artisan crafts for example. For the second equation you showed (favs/views) that shouldn't effect it much since less popular galleries get less view AND less favorites, but when you start square rooting your views it would start to play in.
Also, it doesn't account for the concept of viral sharing; some deviations 'get lucky' and are found and shared, and shared by the right people who have influence. Of course it could be argued that the probably have influence because they have a good eye, but we all know that's not always the case :dummy: It would be interesting if you could figure out a way to factor that in.

Not really being critical or telling you to figure it out or anything; you just got me thinking and I'm musing out loud :D
